The mainstream media know they’ve gotten close to force-feeding you an Obama presidency.  They publicize the polls that show Obama with a lead, and they bury the polls that show a tie or a close race.  Have you seen a single news story covering these 3 polls from last week?

AP/GfK – Obama +1
AP/Yahoo – Obama +2

(All have margins of error of 3%, meaning they’re a statistical dead heat)

Two of these polls are actual ASSOCIATED PRESS polls and the AP wouldn’t even report them.

They want McCain supporters to stay home – if they can convince you that you don’t have a chance, they think you won’t vote.

 

There’s one easy way to stop them – call, email, knock on your friends’ doors.  Make sure your friends know that you’re voting for McCain and make sure that they do, too.

An open letter to the local daily paper – almost every local daily paper in America:

 

This housing crisis didn’t come out of nowhere.  It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.

It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans.

What is a risky loan?  It’s a loan that the recipient is likely not to be able to repay.

 

This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it.  One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules.  The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.

Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. 

 

Isn’t there a story here?  Doesn’t journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout?  Aren’t you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefiting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?  I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal.  “Housing-gate,” no doubt.  Or “Fannie-gate.”

 

Instead, it was Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting sub-prime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed.

 

These are facts.  This financial crisis was completely preventable.  The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was … the Democratic Party.  The party that tried to prevent it was … the Republican Party.

 

Now let’s follow the money … right to the presidential candidate who is the number-two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae. And after Freddie Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate’s campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.  If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.

It’s not too late.  You know that if the situation were reversed, and the truth would damage McCain and help Obama, you would be moving heaven and earth to get the true story out there.

 

If you want to redeem your honor, you will swallow hard and make a list of all the stories you would print if it were McCain who had been getting money from Fannie Mae, McCain whose campaign had consulted with its discredited former CEO, McCain who had voted against tightening its lending practices.

 

You will also tell the truth about John McCain: that he tried, as a Senator, to do what it took to prevent this crisis.  You will tell the truth about President Bush: that his administration tried more than once to get Congress to regulate lending in a responsible way.

This was a Congress-caused crisis, beginning during the Clinton administration, with Democrats leading the way into the crisis and blocking every effort to get out of it in a timely fashion.

 

If you at our local daily newspaper continue to let Americans believe – and vote as if – President Bush and the Republicans caused the crisis, then you are joining in that lie.

Barack Obama says he is the kind of leader we need.  He says he will change Washington, and he will tell people what they need to hear, whether they like it or not.  He speaks as if he is a man with strong convictions, one who can’t be swayed by the political tide.

 

His record, on the other hand, reflects a far different politician.  In his short-lived legislative career, Barack Obama voted “Present” almost 130 times.  This is not a “Yes” vote or a “No” vote, it’s an “I’m not sure” vote or an “I don’t want this on my record” vote.

 

On tough issues like gun control, abortion, and many others, Obama wanted to protect his future political aspirations.  Rather than take a stand like a leader, and express his position and his convictions, Obama decided to meekly opt out and vote “Present”. 

 

- When the world needs a leader in a crisis -

- When the United States to needs to state its position to the United Nations -

- When Americans need the steady hand of a President during international conflict -

 

…do you want a President who is decisive and strong, or do you want America to simply announce that it is “Present”?

   

 

 

(Remember, this is supposed to be a non-partisan group, they get taxpayer money to register voters.)

 

 

A more ominous story is in the reading of the actual people surveyed.  There were 34% more Democrats surveyed than Republicans (the stats file is on SlickBarry.com).  Does that sound like a sound statistical sample?  Do all of AP-Yahoo’s polls survey more Democrats?  Can that possibly be seen as fair or unbiased?

 

The message is this:  No matter how many times the liberal media beats you over the head with a story about Obama’s insurmountable lead, don’t believe it.  They are the poll creators, they are the surveyors, they are the data analysts, and then they are the ones who report the outcome.  They’re trying to make you disheartened so that you won’t take the time to vote on election day.  Don’t let that happen.

I REALLY cannot vote for Obama because:

 

Taxes

1) He promised to double the capital gains tax = all bank accounts, stocks, mutual funds-IRAs-401ks, house sales profits, life insurance (What happens when people don’t invest any more?  Stocks, 401ks, IRAs go DOWN)
2) He promised to increase utility tax = electric bill, gas bill, water bill, sanitation bill etc.
3) He promised to increase the Death Tax, many family businesses lose everything
4) His “business tax cut” for those earning under 250k really only cuts capital gains tax by businesses – not income taxes

Current Economic Collapse
1) Sued Citibank forcing them to continue providing sub-prime loans
2) Forced Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to purchase sub-prime loans, creating dangerous mortgage market
3) Helped block regulations on Fannie and Freddie, proposed by McCain and Republicans years ago, also blocked by Chris Dodd – D Conn. and Barney Frank – D Mass.

4) Helped Franklin Raines (former CEO of Fannie Mae and Obama economic advisor) buy the most sub-prime loans in history and pocket multi-million dollar bonuses

Abortion
1) He voted against medical care for babies born alive after a botched abortion (claims it threatens Roe v Wade)
2) Says a baby is “a burden” that a mother must deal with
3) Tried to block supreme court justices based on his interpretation of abortion positions

Experience
1) ZERO ECONOMIC EXPERIENCE – If you don’t believe this, and you support Obama, ask yourself this right now – what specifically has Obama done in his entire career to show that he has a grasp of the economy?  No speeches, no plans, no promises – what has he DONE, put into law, actually made happen?  Your answer is nothing because he doesn’t have a single piece of economic legislation to his credit.

 

Do you really trust him with your family’s financial future?

It’s not just that Barack Obama started campaigning for the highest office in the land after only 150 days of actually working in Washington as a Senator.

 

It’s not just that Obama’s father was a Marxist economist or that his mother Stanley came from radical far-left roots.

It’s not just that Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor, counselor and spiritual mentor of 20 years is a racist, America-hating radical.

It’s not just that Michael Phleger, Obama’s other spiritual mentor is every bit as extreme as Wright.

It’s not just that his wife Michelle has never been really that proud of America, or that she thinks this country is “downright mean“.

 

It’s not just that Obama thinks small town Americans are bitter, and cling to guns and religion because of their insecurities.

It’s not just that Obama thought that wearing a flag pin was fake patriotism, or that he refused to salute it during the national anthem.

It’s not just that Obama’s political and financial benefactor William Ayers is an unrepentant radical socialist terrorist from the Weather Underround who helped bomb the Pentagon and kill police officers.

It’s not just that Bernadine Dohrn, another campaign supporter and Weather Underground member, regrets that she didn’t kill more people back in the 1960s.

It’s not just that Alice Palmer, Obama’s political mentor in Chicago, was a communist propagandist.

It’s not just that Obama’s childhood mentor Frank Marshall Davis was a famous communist poet.

It’s not just that Obama was a member of the radical socialist New Party or that he ran as a candidate for public office under their far-left platform.

It’s not just that Obama was an agitator, trainer and attorney for the corrupt and radical-left ACORN, under investigation in multiple states for massive voter fraud.

No single fact, by itself, gives you a full picture of Barack Obama. A reasonable person should, however, be able to look at this motley crew of left-wing communists and radicals, and realize that Barack Obama is not the friendly ”Change” agent that he started claiming to be one year ago when this election cycle started.  If his past can tell us anything about his future in politics, big government socialist policies are just the start.

 

 

As far-fetched as the story seemed a few months ago when it was filed, a U.S. District court judge has reviewed all of the evidence brought by Berg and agreed that the case has enough merit to go forward.  The Hon. R. Barclay Surrick has ordered Defendant Barack Hussein Obama to produce as evidence his Certified Birth Certificate, his Certificate of Citizenship, and his Oath of Allegiance.  See the actual court documents here

 

There have been a wide range of stories exploring reasons for Obama’s refusal to produce the birth certificate – that he was born in Kenya, that his mother never properly had his citizenship registered, a fake certificate was published on his web site, etc.  The controversy began early this summer, and has grown tremendously as Obama has refused for months to bring forward concrete evidence.  Although many of the theories seem to be outlandish conspiracies, some seem to merit serious consideration.  Those concerns aside, the question remains:

 

 

It’s a question of a man’s character, his inclination in a tough situation to “lawyer up” rather than be fully cooperative and let the truth be known.  Whether or not he produces the documentation, his practice of hiding behind his team of lawyers and delaying the search for truth do not reflect well on the character of a man who would be President.

 

 

ACORN’s rap sheet for voter registration fraud is a long one, extending back years and across the country.  They’re known for registering the deceased, the homeless, and non-existent people.  As you’d expect, Slick Barry now claims to have no real ties to the group.  Some of their most recent feats in the 2008 election:
